A Blueprint for Knowledge Management Success
UK iManage Partner Tiger Eye have launched Blueprint, a new Knowledge Management companion product for iManage Work. Strategy & Innovation Director Matt Cleverdon’s extensive experience in KM strategy and solutions at law firms has led to the conceptualisation and development of Blueprint over the last year.
In Matt’s words, “The message I was getting was loud and clear: ‘Forget the bells and whistles we don’t want or ever use, and instead give us a toolkit that enables us to work smarter with key best practice documents.’ Blueprint does just that.”
Blueprint was designed with users in mind, and gives iManage customers a simple, intuitive and affordable way to introduce or build on a structured knowledge strategy.
Software solutions need to be flexible to adapt to users’ changing requirements, and one of the unique features of Blueprint is our User Community input: firms using the software will be able to suggest new product features, and Tiger Eye will incorporate these into an ongoing programme of development to enhance the product and meet firms’ needs.
The system has been designed to integrate seamlessly with iManage Work (version 8.5 and above). The submissions process allows documents to be sent directly into Blueprint from iManage Work while retaining all their associated metadata and security. Documents can be submitted by all staff, and tagged and justified at the point of submission, where they are then held in a storage area awaiting approval by the firm’s knowledge managers, or ‘gatekeepers’. This curated database is then easily searchable by all staff, through taxonomy, tags, or keywords, to better help people find the templates or information they need.
Through additional social networking features, Blueprint is designed to maximise staff engagement with a firm’s knowledge strategy. It’s simple and intuitive, and requires minimal training.
