A Warm Welcome To Simon Avery, iManage and Legal Technology Specialist

Interview | 27th January 2026

Introducing Simon Avery, our new Head of Client Strategy. Read below to hear more about Simon’s background, expertise and his areas of focus in this short interview.

1.    How have your first few weeks at Tiger Eye been?

It has been an energetic start. I’ve enjoyed jumping in feet first, by taking advantage of two key events in December to meet both Tiger Eye clients and contacts from our wider network, too.

Firstly, I attended Tiger Eye’s inaugural iManage Security Policy Manager (SPM) forum event in London. This was a brilliant opportunity to see how the Tiger Eye community is tackling current security challenges. Having spent years designing ‘need-to-know’ security models for clients, it was invigorating to engage with clients in person on these exact topics, hearing their experiences and sharing my own expertise, too.

Later in December I attended the iManage Winter Briefing event which was another highlight, giving me direct insight into the iManage roadmap which features a number of exciting advancements. My priority is to take that roadmap and help clients to explore the commercial value and business returns available with each new feature or update our customers adopt. I want to ensure they aren’t just reacting to updates but are maximising the return on their current investments by aligning their internal strategies with where the market is heading.

Internally, I’ve been analysing our client success data to get a clearer picture of our user base. It has been a real delight to review Tiger Eye’s impressive client survey scores, and take a closer look at just some of the many success stories from Tiger Eye’s global client base. In my previous role, I used data-driven metrics to improve Net Promoter Scores (NPS) and project delivery. Applying that same analytical lens here is helping me understand exactly where our clients are finding value and where we can drive further improvements.

2.    How do you see your skills and experience augmenting our team?

My background is in bridging the gap between technical implementation and high-level strategy, and I’m bringing that ‘trusted advisor’ approach to three key areas here:

  • iManage Disposition Manager (iDM): I see a significant opportunity to support our clients with iDM by helping them to understand the two different sides of the platform; both as a governance necessity and an enabler for cost-savings. I can guide clients through the complexities of defensible deletion and compliance. Crucially, I can help them quantify the value of eliminating Redundant, Obsolete, and Trivial (ROT) data, demonstrating how reducing their storage footprint not only lowers cloud costs but significantly reduces their risk profile. I’ll be co-hosting a webinar all about iManage Disposition Manager soon, and I’ll be taking a deep dive into the solution during that event.
  • Adopting New Features: Firms often struggle to keep pace with the iManage Cloud platform’s evolution, as new advancements are delivered regularly and swiftly in response to market demand. I am drawing on my history of guiding clients through long-term transitions to help our clients explore and maximize new iManage features, ensuring they get the ROI they expect at every stage.
  • Knowledge Management (KM) Adoption: I am actively helping the team build out resources to support firms adopting KM. I’ve been supporting clients in navigating their first steps into legal KM technology. This mirrors the strategic scoping and design sessions I have led for years, breaking down complex technical adoption into manageable strategies driven by (and linked back to) broader, high-level business goals. We have a number of exciting events and initiatives launching this year to help firms of all sizes to take advance of the true benefits of harnessing knowledge, and I’m looking forward to sharing my expertise as part of these activities.

3.    What can firms expect to see from you at Tiger Eye in 2026?

You can expect to see me utilizing my 17+ years of market experience to drive value in two directions.

Firstly, for our clients, I will be offering the strategic insight needed to navigate complex changes, from cloud migrations to AI adoption.

Secondly, I will be using that market awareness to inform product development here at Tiger Eye. I have a track record of identifying gaps in capability and aligning solution delivery with real-world business needs. I plan to use that experience to ensure our roadmap not only meets the technical requirements of the legal sector but anticipates its future strategic direction.

At Tiger Eye we are dedicated to Harnessing Knowledge and Unleashing Potential. Given our focus on knowledge work, we are a longstanding iManage Partner, with over 20 years of experience.
