The iManage Next Generation Platform is a distinct evolution from the look, feel and feature set of iManage Work 10. The new release delivers a significant change to the user experience, enhanced connections to the wider technology stack and greater AI capabilities for tasks such as document review. With the volume of changes unveiled in the new release, many organisations are trialling the new experience, and beginning plans to launch the new platform to all users. At Tiger Eye, we are helping clients to navigate this journey, ensuring successful change management and building roadmaps for feature adoption.
In this article we have brought together some commonly asked questions about iManage’s Next Generation Platform, sharing our advice to help firms to understand the platform, prepare for change and adopt the new experience with confidence.
Notice: This resource will be updated over time as we receive more questions on this topic from our community.
Is there a data migration needed to move to the iManage Next Generation Platform?
No, there is no migration involved when adopting the iManage Next Generation Platform. From an end-user perspective, users can access the new platform easily by toggling on the new experience within iManage. For system administrators, it can be also determined who has access to the new user interface. Learn more about this later on in the article.
Importantly, the existing ethical walls and security permissions remain in place when the new experience is enabled, ensuring the system continues to be securely protected.
Is iManage Work 10 still available?
Yes, iManage Work 10 remains available to users alongside the iManage Next Generation Platform. There is currently no plan from iManage to end support for iManage Work 10 and no end-of-life date for this has been shared. When users access iManage, they can continue to work in the familiar iManage Work 10 interface and use the toggle in the top-right corner of the screen to move into the new experience. If required, they can switch back to iManage Work 10 using the same control. By creating a small, simple switch, iManage has created a frictionless co-existence of both experiences, ensuring they work in parallel and can be quickly accessed when needed.
Can I control who has access to the iManage Next Generation Platform?
Yes, system administrators can control access and permissions in the iManage Control Centre (IMCC), allowing firms to manage when users can access the new platform. By configuring access to suit requirements, organisations have more time to prepare and deliver user training before introducing the new experience firm-wide.
What happens to Ask iManage?
The core features of Ask iManage are now incorporated within the AI Productivity Bundle.* This add-on bundle offers an abundance of AI features including natural language search, document comparison, playbooks and much more. iManage also offers the Content Enhancement Bundle which includes classification and metadata enrichment, granular tagging of documents and video transcription.
*If you have already subscribed to Ask iManage, you will continue to have these AI capabilities in the iManage Next Generation Platform, with no additional cost.
How much does the iManage Next Generation Platform cost?
The default iManage Next Generation Platform is available for all iManage cloud users, as part of their current subscription. However, although the platform can be accessed and used without any additional AI components, the experience is significantly enhanced when AI is able to underpin core tasks.
